Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Q 9

LET LARGER SIDE BE =X

SHORTER SIDE = X-16

AREA OF TRAPEZIUM = 1/2* (SUM OF PARALLEL SIDES)* HEIGHT

182 = (1/2)*(X+X-16)14

182*2/14= 2X-16

26+16= 2X

X=21

SHORTER SIDE 21-16=5CM

Q 10

SEE FIG.

BY PYTHAGORAS THEOREM

10²= 6+H²

H=8cm

AREA OF TRAPEZIUM =(1/2) * 38 *8

= 152 CM²

question 9
if longer side = x
shorter side = x-16

area of trapezium = 1/2 × sum of parallel side × height
182= 1/2 × (a+b)× h
182=1/2× {x + (x-16)} × 14
(182 × 2)/14 = x + x -16
26= 2x-16
26 + 16 = 2x
42=2x
x = 21
longer side = x = 21 cm
shorter side = x -16 = 21 - 16 = 7 cm
