(3x + 4)(2x - 11) = 0 \\  ⇒3x(2x - 11) + 4(2x - 11) = 0 \\ ⇒6x - 33x + 8x - 44 = 0 \\ ⇒14x - 33x - 44 = 0 \\ ⇒19x - 44 = 0 \\ ⇒19x = 44 \\ ⇒x =  \frac{44}{19}  \\ ⇒x = 2.315

Question:

Solve for x : (3x + 4)(2x - 11) = 0

Answer:

x = -4/3 , 11/2

Solution:

We have ;

(3x + 4)(2x - 11) = 0

Here ,

Two cases arises :

Case(1) : If (3x + 4) = 0

=> 3x + 4 = 0

=> 3x = -4

=> x = -4/3

Case(2) : If (2x - 11) = 0

=> 2x - 11 = 0

=> 2x = 11

=> x = 11/2

Hence,

Possible values of x are (-4/3) and 11/2 .
