firstly, we will multiply 4 with the terms in the bracket,

=> 4x - 2 = 5

then, 2 will be taken to the other side, so if it is negative, then after going to the other side, it will be positive!

=> 4x = 5 + 2

=> 4x = 7

then, 4 is multiplied by x, so after taking 4 to other side, it will divide by 7.

=> x = $\frac{7}{4}$

thus, number = x = $\frac{7}{4}$ .
