Given distance = 17 units.

Given that the points lies on x - axis.

Let the give points be A(11,-8), B(x,0).

We know that :

= > AB^2 = (x2 - x1)^2 + (y2 - y1)^2

= > (17)^2 = (x - 11)^2 + (0 + 8)^2

= > 289 = (x - 11)^2 + 64

= > 289 - 64 = (x - 11)^2

= > 225 = (x - 11)^2

= > x - 11 = 15 and x - 11 = -15

= > x = 15 + 11 and x = -15 + 11

= > x = 26 and x = -4.

Therefore the coordinates are (26,0) and (-4,0).

Hope this helps!
