Taking alpha as a
sec a= 5/4

we know sec x= (Hyp. / Adj. )
so Hyp, H= 5 ; Adj, A=4

tan x= (opp. / Adj. )
Using pythogorean rule,
H² = O²+A²
O² = H² -A²
O²= 25-16 O²= 9
O=√9=3
so opp.= 3
tan a=3/4 &tan² a =9/16

substitute values in tan a/(1 + tan² a)=>
=(3/4)/[1+(9/16)]
=(3/4)/(25/16)
=(3/4)*(16/25)
=12/25

Hope it helps
