Given x = ( √3 +1 ) / 2


4 ( ( √3 +1 / 2 )^3. + 2 ((√3 +1 ) /2 ^2.

- 8 ((√3 +1) /2 )+7




Now

4 ( √3 +1 ) ^3 /8 +2 ( √3 +1)^2/4 - 8 ( √3+1)/2+7



as we know that ( a +b) ^n = sigma [ K = 0, n]


C ( n, K) *a^ ( n -k) *b^k


Hence (a+b)^3 = a^3 + 3a^2 2b + 3a b^2 +1b^3


and ( a+b )^2 = 1a^2 +2ab + 1b^2



= ( 3 + √3 +9 + 3√3 +1 ) /2 + (3+2√3 +1) /2

-4 (√3 +1) +7



= ( 6√3 +10 ) /2 + ( 2√3 +4)/2 -4(√3+1) +7


hence your answer is


3√3 +5 +√3 +2 - 4√3 - 4 +7 =10


hence answer is 10
