Given that the light flashes every 16 seconds, 24 seconds, and 40 seconds.

We need to calculate the LCM of 16,24 and 40.

Prime factorization of 16 = 2 * 2 * 2 * 2

Prime factorization of 24 = 2 * 2 * 2 * 3

Prime factorization of 40 = 2 * 2 * 2 * 5.

LCM(16,24,40) = 2 * 2 * 2 * 2 * 3 * 5

= > 240.

Given that they flash together at 2 pm.

So, the time when they next flash together = 240 seconds = 4 minutes = 2.04pm.

Hope this helps!
