Explanation:-

The chemical reaction is :-

CaCO CaO + CO

In the above reaction, Calcium Carbonate [CaCO₃] is reactant . Quicklime [CaO] and Carbon Dioxide [CO₂] are products.

Now, according to Law of Conservation of mass,we know that:-

Mass of reactants = Mass of products

Thus :-

Mass[CaCO₃] = Mass[CaO] + Mass[CO₂]

=> 100g = Mass[CaO] + 44g

=> Mass[CaO] = (100 - 44)g

=> Mass[CaO] = 56g

Thus, 56g of quicklime will be formed.

And we followed the Law of Conservation of mass, for solving this problem.
