1/x + 1/3y = 1/12 ---( 1 )

3/x + 2/y = 0----( 2 )

multiply equation ( 1 ) with 3 , and subtract

from ( 2 ) , we get

3/x + 1/y = 1/4 ---( 3 )

3/x + 2/y = 0---( 2 )

-1/y = 1/4

-y = 4

y = - 4

Put y = - 4 in equation ( 2 ) ,

2/x + 2/( - 4 ) = 0

2/x - 1/2 = 0
