Step-by-step explanation:

3x-5y=16 ___(1)

x-3y=8 ___(2)

multiple equ(2) by 3

=> 3x -9y=24 ___(3)

subtract equ(1) and equ(3)

=> 4y= -8

=> y= -2

put value of y in equ(2)

so, we get

=> x-3(-2)=8

=> x+6=8

=> x= 2

Ans:- (x,y) = (2,-2)

hope will help you ❤️
