a + b = 10 ______(2)

SOLUTION:

Multiply (2) with 3 ,

(2) × 3 => 3a + 3b = 30 _______(3)

Add (3) and (1) ,

(3) => 3a + 3b = 30

(1) => 4a - 3b = 5

7a = 35

a = 35/ 7

a = 5

Substitute a = 5 in equation (2),,,

(2) => 5 + b = 10

b = 10 - 5

b = 5

Therefore a = b = 5
