5y -4x = 32 ________(1) ×1

8y+ 2x =26 ×2 ______(2) ×2

then we have

5y-4x=32

16y+4x= 52

add both equation

21y=84

y=84/21

y=4

put the value of y in equation ( 1)

20 -4x =32

-4x=32-20

-4x =12

x=12/-4 = 6

x=6 and y= 4
