Question 5:-

Given :-

Dimensions of an oil tin are 26cm×26cm×45cm

length = 26cm

breadth = 26cm

height = 45cm

Total surface area of oil (cuboid) tin

= 2( lb+bh+hl)

= 2(26×26+26×45+45×26)

= 2(3016)

= 6032

The total surface area of one tin = 6032cm²

So, the total surface area of 20 such tins = 6032×20 = 120640cm²

Question 6:-

Dimensions of a swimming pool : -

Length (l) = 20 m

Breadth (b) = 15 m

Depth or height (h) = 4 m

It's floor and walls are to be cemented.

Area to be cemented = area of base + area of lateral sides

= (l × b) + 2(l + b)h

= [(20 × 15) + {2 × (20 + 15) × 4}] cm²

= (300 + 280) cm²

= 580 cm²

Cost of cementing per m² = Rs 35

So, cost of cementing the swimming pool = Rs (580 × 35) = Rs 20300
