t - (3t - 1) = t - 4

=> t - 3t + 1 = t - 4

=> -2t + 1 = t - 4

=> -2t + 1 - t + 4 = 0

=> -3t + 6 = 0

=> -3t = -6

=> t = -6/-3

=> t = 6/3

=> t = 2

Hence your answer is 2.
