Cross multiplying equation 1:

5(x+1) = 6(y+1)

5x + 5 = 6y + 6

5x - 6y = 1

Cross multiplying equation 2:

2(x-5) = 3(y-5)

2x - 10 = 3y - 15

3y - 2x = 5

Multiplying second equation ( x 2)

-4x + 6y = 10

Adding the two:

x = 11

y = 9
