they can be written as
x + 3y =10 and 8x + y =14.
multiply second eqn with 3.
i.e 24x + 3y =42.
subtract new 2nd eqn and 1st one.
u get 23x = 32.
x = 32/23.
from eqn 1, y = 10-x/3 = 230 -32 / 69 = 198/69 = 66/23..
