5 × (2x + 3y)

5 × 2x + 5 × 3y

10x + 15y

10x + 15y is your required answer

On solving further,

we all know if there's nothing, there is 1

so, 10x + 15y = 1                                --(1)

15y = 1 + 10x

y=\frac{1+10x}{15}                                            --(2)

Substitute the value of (2) in (1)

10x + \frac{1+10x}{15} = 1

\frac{150x+1+10x}{15} = 1

150x + 1 + 10x = 1 × 15

160x + 1 = 15

160x = 15-1

160x = 14

x=\frac{14}{160}

x = 0.08                                        --(3)

substitute (3) in (1)

10x + 15y = 1

10(0.08) + 15y = 1

0.8 + 15y = 1

15y = 1 - 0.8

15y = 0.2

y=\frac{0.2}{15}

y = 0.013333....

∴ the value of x is 0.8 and y is 0.013333....
