Given

  • Power = 1100 W
  • Time/day = 2 hrs
  • Cost = 5 per unit (kWh)

To Find

  • Electric bill for the month of April (30 days)

Solution

☯ Total Cost = Power (kWh) × Time/day × Number of days × Cost per unit

  • To calculate the cost we have to convert the unit of power from watt to kWh

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

✭ According to the Question :

➞ Total cost = Power × Time/day × Number of days × Cost per unit

  • Power = 1100 W = 1100/1000 = 1.1 kWh
  • Time/day = 2 hrs
  • Number of days = 30
  • Cost per unit = 5

➞ Total cost = 1.1 × 2 × 30 × 5

➞ Total cost = 66 × 5

➞ Total cost = ₹330

∴ The electric bill for the month of April is ₹330
