Answer:

let the numerator x and the denominator y

numerator is increased by 20%

so x+(20x/100)

=6x/5

denominator decreased by 10%

=y-10y/100

=9y/100

so fraction is(6x/5)/(9x/100)

=6x/5*100/9y

=120x/9y

=40x/3y

=

=16/21

so the original fraction is

x/y=16/21*3/40

=4/70

=2/35

\mathcal{ANSWER}

\boxed{\bold{\frac{4}{7}}}

\mathcal{SOLUTION}

Let the fraction be  \bold{\frac{x}{y}} .

Then from the given condition :-

(x+10% of x) / (y - 10% of y) = 16/21

⇒   \bold{\frac{x + \frac{x}{5} }{y - \frac{y}{10} } = \frac{16}{21}}

⇒   \bold{\frac{\frac{6x}{5} }{\frac{9y}{10} } = \frac{16}{21} }

⇒    \bold{\frac{x}{y} = \frac{16}{21} \times \frac{9}{10} \times \frac{5}{6}  = \frac{4}{7}}
