Answer:

given,

height ( h) = 10m

base radius (r) = 24m

(1) slant height = √{height ² + radius ²}

= √{10² + 24²} = 26m

(ii) surface area of canvas = surface area of cone = πr× slant height

= 22/7 × 24 × 26 m²

total cost of canvas for making = surface area of canvas × rate

= 22/7 × 24 × 26 × 70

= 22 × 24 × 26 × 10

= 137280 ₹

Step-by-step explanation:

1.) Height (h) of conical tent = 10 m

h=10 m

Radius (r) of conical tent 24 m

Let the slant height of the tent be l

We know that

l^2=h^2+ r^2

= (10)^2 + (24) ^2

l^2=100+ 576

l^2=676

I=√676

l= √26

I= 26 m

Therefore, the slant height of the tent is 26 m.

2.) Here the tent does not cover the base,

So, we find Curved surface area of tent = πrl

Here, r =24m,l = 26m

Curved surface area of tent =πrl

=(22/7x 24 x 26) m

= 13728/7 m

Cost of 1 m^2 canvas = Rs 70

Cost of 13728/7 m^2 canvas = Rs(13728/7x 70)

= Rs 137280

Therefore, the cost of the canvas required to make the tent is Rs 137280.
