To find :

The numbers so that they fulfill all the equations .

Solution :

Let four variables be a, x , b and z .

in clockwise direction ,

a + x = 8    ......(i)

x + b = 8     ......(ii)

z - b = 6      .......(iii)

a + z = 13    .......(iv)

by solving the equations (i) and (ii) , we get ,

→ a = b

using a=b in (iii) and (iv) , and solving it ,

z = 9.5

and , b = 3.5

as a = b , then , a = 3.5

putting a = 3.5 in (i) ,

x = 4.5

a = 3.5 , x = 4.5 , b = 3.5 and z = 9.5 clockwise from top left corner according to viewer .
