QUESTION:

solve the equation

1/x-3-1/x+5=2/5

ANSWER:

 \frac{1}{x - 3}  +  \frac{1}{x + 5}  =  \frac{2}{5}

 \frac{x + 5 + x - 3}{(x - 3)(x + 5)} =  \frac{2}{5}

 \frac{2x + 2}{ {x}^{2} + 2x - 15 }  =  \frac{2}{5}

5(2x + 2) = 2( {x}^{2}  + 2x - 15)

10x + 10 = 2 {x}^{2}  + 4x - 30

2 {x}^{2}   - 10x + 4x - 30 - 10 = 0

2 {x}^{2}  - 6x  - 40 = 0

 {x}^{2}  - 3x - 20 = 0
