Step-by-step explanation:

1]

y - 2x = 1 -  -  -  -  - (1)

4y + x = 12 -  -  -  -  - (2)

now multiplying second equation by 2 to equate x in both equation

now second equation will be----

8y + 2x = 24 -  -  -  -  - (3)

now add both the equations......then it will be like...

9y = 25

put y=9/25 in equation 1 and get value of x.....

Same thing is to be done in 2nd part of this question....

Answer:

1) y-2x=1,4y+x=12

y-2x=1

(+)8y+2x=24

9y=25

y=25/9

2)3x=2y+1,4y=12-x

3x=2y+1,-3x=12y-36

(+)

0=14y-35

14y=35

y=5/2
