21 – 3( x – 7 ) = x + 20

21 – 3x – 21 = x + 20

21 – 20 – 21 = 3x + x

( – 20 ) = 4x

x = ( – 5 )

Given :-

\sf 21 − 3(x − 7) = x + 20

To Find :-

  • Value of x

Solution :-

\sf 21 − 3(x − 7) = x + 20

\implies \sf21 - 3x + 21 = x + 20

\implies \sf 42 - 3x = x + 20

\implies \sf - 3x - x = 20 - 42

\implies \sf - 4x = - 22

\implies \sf \: x = \frac{ - 22}{ - 4}

\implies \sf \: x = 5.5
