Solve the equation, 2x + 1= x- 3 and represent the solution(s) on i) the number line ii) the Cartesian plane

We are given the equation

2x + 1 = x - 3

2x - x = - 3 - 1

x = - 4

Thus, we get solutions of the equation is ' x = -4.

Hence, on the number line, this will represent the point -4, whereas on the co-ordination plane, its will represent the vertical line x = -4 parallel to y-axis.

Thus, the figure for both are given below.
