Answer:

Given

2x+8=0

subtract 8 from both side

2x+8-8=0-8

2x=-8

divide both side by 2 ,

x=-4

hence when you draw

1)it on number line it is a dark dot on x =-4

and

2)a line parallel to y axis passing through x=-4

please check the attached pic

Answer:

x = -4

Step-by-step explanation:

2x + 8 = 0

2x = -8 , we divide whole equation with 2 -->

2x = -8  /2

x = -4

1) On the number line x = -4 is exactly that one point.

2) A Cartesian coordinate system is a coordinate system that specifies each point uniquely in a plane by a set of numerical coordinates.

Basically every point has two coordinates x and y.

In our case we have that x = -4 and nothing is specified for y. We can say that y can be any number we want. So in our case x = -4 represents whole line where x = -4 and y∈(-∞,∞)

Also 2 pictures are provided to showcase each solution!
