Answer:

Given:-

2x-y=6 (1)

2x+3y=14 (2)

Solution:-

2x-y=6 (1) Eliminating x by subtracting (2) from (1)

2x+3y=14 (2)

(-) (-) (-)

-4y= -8

y =  \frac{8}{4}

y=2

Substituting y=2 in (2):-

2x+3(2)=14

2x+6=14

2x=8

x =  \frac{8}{2}

x=4

Verification by checking x and y in (1)

2x-y=6

2(4)-2=6

8-2=6

6=6

Since,

LHS=RHS

Hence,

The given solution:-

x=4

y=2
