2x² + x - 6

\sf{ splitting \ middle \ term }

2x² + 4x - 3x - 6

\sf{By \ taking \ common }

2x ( x + 2 ) - 3 ( x + 2 )

2x - 3 = 0 or x + 2 = 0

⤗ x = 3 / 2 or x = - 2

Answer:

2x2 + x - 6 = 0

2x2 + 4x + 3x - 6 = 0

2x (x + 2) - 3 (x + 2) = 0

(2x - 3) (x + 2) = 0

2x - 3 = 0 , x + 2 = 0

x = 3/2 , x = -2

∴ the roots of the quadratic equation are 3/2 and -2
