3x+2x+4=20-2x+5

5x+4=25-2x

5x+2x=25-4

7x=21

x=21/7

x=3

Given,

3x + 2(x + 2) = 20 - (2x - 5)
Multiplying the numbers in the brackets,
we have,

3x + 2x + 4 = 20 - 2x + 5

5x + 4 = 25 - 2x
Transposing 2x to LHS and 4 to RHS,
we have,

5x + 2x = 25 - 4

7x = 21

x =  \frac{21}{7}
x = 3

So,
the value of x is 3
