Given Equation

➝3x + 4y = 18 (i)

➝2x - 5y = -11 (ii)

To find

➝Value of x and y by using Substitution Method

Now Take (i)eq

➝3x + 4y = 18 (i)

➝3x = 18 - 4y

➝x = (18 - 4y)/3 (iii)

Now put the value of x on (ii)eq

➝2x - 5y = -11 (ii)

➝2(18 - 4y)/3 -5y = -11

By taking LCM we get

➝2(18 - 4y ) - 15y = - 11×3

➝36 - 8y - 15y = -33

➝-23y = -33-36

➝-23y = -69

➝23y = 69

➝y = 69/23

➝y = 3

Now Put the value of y on (iii) eq

➝x = (18 - 4y)/3 (iii)

➝x = ( 18 - 4×3)/3

➝x = (18 - 12)/3

➝x = 6/3

➝x = 2

Answer

➝x = 2 and y = 3
