Answer:

x = 2,-2/3

Step-by-step explanation:

3x²-4x-4 = 0

3x²-6x+2x-4

3x(x-2)+2(x-2)

x-2 = 0

x = 2

3x+2 = 0

3x = -2

x = -2/3

Answer:

Given equation : 3x²-4x-4=0

from above equation : a = 3, b= -4 and c = -4

using quadratic formula :X= [-b ± root b²- 4ac]÷ 2a

=> X = [-(-4) ± root (-4)² - 4(3)(-4)] ÷ 2(3)

=> X = [4 ± root (16) - (-48)] ÷ 6

=> X = [4 ± root (16 + 48)] ÷ 6

=> X = [4 ± root (64)] ÷ 6

=> X = [4 ± 8] ÷ 6

=> X = [4 + 8] ÷ 6 or X = [4 - 8] ÷ 6

=> X = 12 ÷ 6 or X = - 4 ÷ 6

=> X = 2 or X = - 2/3

Therefore , X = ( 2 , - 2/3 )
