Hi there !!
Here's your answer

Given,
to find the value of x in

4x + 1 = x - 2

Transposing x to LHS and 1 to RHS,
we have,

4x - x = -2 - 1

3x = -3

x = -3/3

x = -1

Hey there !

Solving a linear equation :

4x + 1 = x -2

Transposing x terms to LHS and constants to RHS.,

4x - x = -2 -1

3x = -3

x = -3/3

x = -1 .
