5 ( 3 X + 4) - 8( 6 x- 7) = 9 x - 8

15x + 20 - 48x + 56 = 9x - 8

15x - 48x - 9x = - 8 - 20 - 56

- 42x = - 84

42x = 84

X = 2

5(3x + 4) - 8(6x + 7) = 9x - 8 \\ 15x + 20 - 48x - 56 = 9x - 8 \\  - 33x - 36 = 9x - 8 \\ 9x + 33x =  - 36 + 8 \\ 42x =  - 28 \\ x =  \frac{ - 28}{42}  \\  \\ x =  \frac{ - 4}{6}  =  \frac{ - 2}{3}
