Answer:

7-x/5x+1=3

7-x = 3(5x +1)

7-x =15x +3

-x-15x = 3 - 7

-16x = -4

16x = 4

x =4/16

x =1/4

Solution

 \frac{7 - x}{5x  + 1}  =  \frac{3}{1}

By using multiplying, we get,

1(7 - x) =  3(5x + 1)

or \: 7 -  x =15x + 3

or \:   - x - 15x = 3 - 7

or \:  \:  \:  - 16x =  - 4

hence \:  \: x =  \frac{ - 4}{ - 16}  =  \frac{1}{4}

Verification

for \: x =  \frac{1}{4}

L.H.S

 \frac{7 - x}{5x + 1}  =  \frac{7 -  \frac{1}{4} }{5 \times  \frac{1}{4 + 1} }  =  \frac{ \frac{28 - 1}{4} }{ \frac{5 + 4}{4} }  =  \frac{ \frac{27}{4} }{ \frac{9}{4} }

 =  \frac{27}{4}  \times  \frac{4}{9}  = 3

R.H.S

 = 3

Therefore LHS = RHS verified√

hence \: x =  \frac{1}{4}  \: is \: the \: solution
