solve the equation 7y-5/4y+2=8/7 and verify your answer

Answer:

7(7y-5)=8(4y+2)

49y-35=32y+16

49y-32y=16+35

17y=51

y=3

Verification:

put value of y in LHS

7(3)-5/4(3)+2=21-5/12+2=16/14=8/7=RHS

hence verified
