The Given equation is

→ –9 x + 1 = –x + 17

Taking constant term on one side and variable on one side

→ - 9 x + x=17 -1

→ - 8 x = 16 [ Applying the rule of addition and subtraction]

Dividing both sides by (-8)

→ x = - 2

x = - 2 is solution of the equation → –9 x + 1 = –x + 17
