Question:-

3(x + 2) - 2(x - 1) = 7

Answer:-

3(x + 2) - 2(x - 1) = 7

=> 3x + 6 - 2x + 2 = 7

=> 3x - 2x + 6 + 2 = 7

=> x + 8 = 7

=> x = -1

Verification:-

Given RHS = 7

Finding LHS:-

3(x + 2) - 2(x - 1)

= 3(-1 + 2) - 2(-1 - 1)

= 3( 1 ) - 2(- 2)

= 3 + 4

= 7

Therefore LHS = RHS = 7

Ans. = x = -1
