solve the equation and check your solution by substituting in the equation 6x-9-2(1-x)=x+9

Step 1

Multiply : 6x-9-2(1-x)=x+9

             =6x-9-2+2x=x+9

             =6x-11+2x=x+9

             =8x-11=x+9

Bring all like terms to one side:

             =8x-x=9+11

             =7x=20

              x=20/7
