x² - 20x + 18 = 0

x² - 20x = - 18

x² - 2 × x × 10 + ( 10 )² = -18 + ( 10 )²

( x - 10 )² = -18 + 100

( x - 10 )² = 82

x - 10 = ± √82

x = 10 ± 82
