Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

4x-5y=20 and 3x+5y=15

To find :-

Solve the equation by elimination method ?

Solution :-

Given equations are :

4x-5y=20 ------------(1)

3x+5y=15 ------------(2)

On adding (1)&(2) then

4x-5y = 20

3x+5y = 15

(+)

_________

7x + 0 = 35

_________

=> 7x = 35

=> x = 35/7

=> x = 5

The value of x for the given problem is 5

On Substituting the value of y in (1) then

=> 4(5)-5y= 20

=> 20-5y = 20

=> -5y = 20-20

=> -5y = 0

=> y = 0/-5

=> y = 0

The value of y = 0

Answer:-

The solution for the given problem is (5,0)

Check:-

If x = 5, y = 0 then LHS of equation (1)

=> 4(5)-5(0)

=> 20-0

=> 20

=> RHS

and

If x = 5, y = 0 then LHS of equation (2)

=> 3(5)+5(0)

=> 15+0

=> 15

=> RHS

Verified the given relations in the given problem.

Used Method:-

  • Method of Elimination

Step-by-step explanation:

4x- 5y= 20 ---------- equation (1)

3x+5y= 15 ---------- equation (2)

equation (1) &(2) solving ( add)

4x - 5y = 20

+ 3x + 5y = 15

7x = 35

X = 35/7

X= 5 ( Answer)
