Step-by-step explanation:

4x+5y=20 (I)

3x+5y=15 (ii)

then,

(I) eq. is multiple by 3 & (ii) eq. multiple by 4

you get,

12x +15y=60. (iii)

12x+20y=60. (iv)

_. _. _

now subtract the eq. (iii) & (iv)

you get,

-5y = 0

y= 0

put y=0 in eq. (I)

4x +5y=20

4x+ 5(0)=20

4x=20

x=20/4

x= 5
