hay mate here's your answer

it's elimination not reduction.

(2x+y=5)×5

(3x+5y=-3)×1

10x+5y=25

3x+5y=-3

-_-__+_

7x =28

:.x =28/7 = 4

2x+y=5

2(4)+y=5

:.y= 5-8 = -3

HEY MATE,

THE ANSWER OF YOUR QUESTION IS AS FOLLOWS :: -

ANS. =>

2x + y = 5 _______ (1)

3x + 5y = -3 _______ (2)

MULTIPLYING EQUATION (1) BY 5,

WE GET ,

10x + 5y = 25 ______ (3)

SUBTRACTING EQUATION (2) FROM EQUATION (3)

10x + 5y = 25

-

3x + 5y = -3

_____-_______-_____+__________

7x = 28

x = 28/7

HENCE, x = 4

SUBSTITUTING x = 4 IN EQUATION (1)

2 (1) + y = 5

2 + y = 5

y = 5 - 2

y = 3

THEREFORE,

THE SOLUTION OF THE GIVEN EQUATION

( x, y ) => ( 4 , 3 )
