EXPLANATION.

→ 2/x - 3/y = 15 ......(1)

→ 8/x + 5/y = 77 .......(2)

→ Let we assume that = 1/x = a And 1/y = b

→ 2a - 3b = 15 .....(3)

→ 8a + 5b = 77 ......(4)

→ From equation (3) and (4) we get,

→ Multiply equation (3) by 5

→ Multiply equation (4) by 3

→ 10a - 15b = 75

→ 24a + 15b = 231

→ 34a = 306

→ a = 9

→ Put the value of a = 9 in equation (4)

we get,

→ 8(9) + 5b = 77

→ 72 + 5b = 77

→ 5b = 5

→ b = 1

→ we can assume that,

→ 1/x = a → 1/x = 9 → 1 = 9x → x = 1/9.

→ 1/y = b → 1/y = 1 → y = 1.

Value of x = 1/9 and y = 1.
