Step-by-step explanation:

2x+5y=1 ______ i

2x+3y=2

x=(2 -3y)/2 ______ii

putting value of x from eqn ii in eqn i , we have

  • 2(2-3y)/2 + 5y=1
  • 2-3y+5y = 1
  • 2y=-1
  • y=-1/2

again substituting the value of y in eqn ii we get

  • x=(2-3×1/2)/2
  • =(4-3)/4
  • =1/4
