x+4y = 14
7x-3y = 5

GIVEN :-

→ x+4y = 14-----------(i)

→7x-3y = 5--------------(ii)

multiply 7 in equation (i) and 1 in equation (ii).

→ 7x + 28y = 98-----------(iii)

→ 7x -3y = 5 ------------------(iv)

from equation (iii) and (iv)

  • 7x + 28y = 98
  • 7x - 3y = 5
  • ------------------------
  • 31y = 93

→ y = 93/31

→ y = 3.

put the value of y in equation (i)

→ x + 4y = 14

→ x + 4(3) = 14

→ x + 12 = 14

→ x = 14 - 12

→ x = 2.
