Step-by-step explanation:

4x-y=0 (1)

2x-y=-2(2)

We are going to multiply (2) by 2 in order to cancel out x place

2(2x-y=-2)

4x-2y=-4 (3)

We are going to subtract 3 from 1

4x-y=0

-(4x-2y=-2)

2y=2

y=1

substituting value of y we get x=4
