Step-by-step explanation:

4x + 3y = 5............eqn(1)

2y - x = 7 \\ - x + 2y = 7............eqn(2)

Multiply eqn (2) by 4

4( - x + 2y) = 7 \times 4 \\ - 4x + 8y = 28.................eqn(3)

Add eqn (1) & (3)

4x + 3y = 5 \\ - 4x + 8y = 28 \\ = \\ 11y = 33 \\ y = \frac{33}{ 11} \\ y = 3

Now put y=3 in eqn... (1)

4x + 3y = 5 \\ 4x + 3(3) = 5 \\ 4x + 9 = 5 \\ 4x = 5 - 9 \\ 4x = - 4 \\ x = \frac{ - 4}{4} \\ \\ x = 1 \\

the \: soln \: of \: the \: eqn \: is \: x = 1 \: and \: y = 3
