 m - (m - 1)/2 = 1- (m - 2)/3
(2m - m + 1)/2 = (3 - m + 2)/3
(m + 1)/2 = ( 5 - m)/3
3(m + 1) = 2(5 - m)
3m + 3 = 10 - 2m
3m + 2m = 10 - 3
5m = 7
m = 7/5

Hope This Helps You!

Given:

An equation m - m-1/2 = 1 - m-2/3.

To find:

The solution of the given equation.

Solution:

We need to solve the equation given in the question which is:

m -  \frac{(m - 1)}{2}  = 1 -  \frac{(m - 2)}{3}

To solve the above equation, we need to make the denominator the same on both LHS and RHS.

So, we take the LCM of 2 and 3 which is 6.

Thus, after multiplying (m - 1)/2 by 3 and (m - 2)/3 by 2 on both numerator and denominator we get,

m -  \frac{(m - 1)3}{6}  = 1 -  \frac{(m - 2)2}{6}

m -  \frac{(3m - 3)}{6}  = 1 -  \frac{(2m - 4)}{6}

 \frac{6m - 3m + 3}{6 }  =  \frac{6 - 2m + 4}{6}

On multiplying by 6 on both sides, we get,

6m - 3m + 3 = 6 - 2m + 4

3m + 2m = 10 - 3

5m = 7

m = \frac{7}{5}

Hence, the equation is solved where m = 7/5.
