let 4x-5y+16 = 0 be equation (1)
and 2x+y-6=0 be equation (2)
now multiply equation (2) by 2
= 4x+2y-12=0 .........(3)
subtracting equation (3) from equation (1),
4x-5y+16-(4x+2y-12)=0
4x-5y+16-4x-2y+12=0
-7y+28=0
-7y = -28 . so y = 4
substituting the value of y in equation (1),
4x-5(4)+16=0
= 4x-20+16= 0
4x= 4 . so X = 1 .
so X = 1 and y = 4.
