Answer:

 {y}^{2}  + 6y + 5 = 0 \\  \\  =  >   {y}^{2}  + (5 + 1)y + 5 = 0 \\  \\  =  {y}^{2}  + 5y + y + 5 = 0 \\  \\  =  > y(y + 5) + 1(y + 5) = 0 \\  \\  =  > (y + 5)(y + 1) = 0 \\  \\ either \: y + 5 = 0 \\  \\  =  > y =  - 5 \\  \\ or \: y + 1 = 0 \\  \\  =  > y =  - 1

\large{\bold{\huge{\overbrace{\underbrace{ANSWER:}}}}}

y²+6y+5 = 0

y² + 5y + y + 5 = 0 (splitting middle term)

y(y+5)+1(y+5)=0

(y+1)(y+5)=0

so,

y+1 = 0

y = -1

or

y+5 = 0

y = -5

therefore, y = -1; y = -5
